Netflix Review: Santa Clarita Diet

If you're a fan of Drew Barrymore, you'll love her in this series. She brings life to her character, Sheila Hammond the mom and real estate agent, with her signature funny quirkiness. You'll never notice that she's unlike me and you, until she starts tearing into people's throats and devours them to satisfy her immense hunger. Just your typical downside of being a zombie. Shh.. Don't use the term "zombie" though, they prefer being referred to as the "undead". Husband and real estate partner, Joel Hammond, and daughter, Abby Hammond, are extremely supportive of Sheila as she undergoes a massive life change. A far cry from putting up with a family member going through their mid life crisis... Or is it? I absolutely love this series because of its unique plot and execution. Most importantly, comedy that is on point. I'm ending this review on a bittersweet note, because Netflix has announced that they have cancelled the show after only 3 seasons. The final episode ended on a cliffhanger, for God's sake! This show has a strong fan base and you can guess how disappointed this announcement has made us. I vote for this show to be brought back to life!
